AI and ghostwriting policy

Authors deserve to know exactly how their book is made. This policy explains how ghostwriting works at Omega Publishers and how we do, and do not, use artificial intelligence tools.

Last updated: 30 September 2026

1. Ghostwriting, explained

Ghostwriting is a long-established practice in publishing. Many respected business and non-fiction books are written with professional help. At Omega, our writers draft your book from your answers, stories and materials, and you review and approve every chapter. The ideas are yours, the voice is yours and the book is yours.

2. Your authorship

You are the author of your book. It is built from your expertise, experience and point of view, and nothing is published without your approval. You are credited as the author, and you hold the rights.

3. The role of people

The thinking, writing and editing of your book are done by people. Professional writers draft each chapter, and professional editors carry out developmental editing, line editing, copy editing and proofreading.

4. How we use AI tools

We may use carefully chosen tools, which may include AI-based tools, to support the work where they genuinely help, for example to:

  • Transcribe voice notes you choose to send instead of written answers.
  • Organise and search the research and materials you provide.
  • Check consistency of terms, names and spelling across a long manuscript.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling.

5. What we do not use AI for

We do not use AI tools to:

  • Generate your book or its chapters.
  • Invent stories, quotations, case studies or credentials.
  • Replace the judgement of our writers and editors.
  • Create final cover artwork without human design direction and approval.

6. Protecting your material

Your materials are confidential. We only use tools that meet our security standards, and we choose settings that prevent your material from being used to train publicly available AI models wherever such settings are offered.

7. Your preferences

If you would prefer that no AI-based tools are used on your project at all, tell us at the start and we will respect that choice.

8. Retailer disclosure requirements

Some retailers ask publishers to disclose whether AI was used to create content. We answer these questions accurately and in line with this policy.

9. Reviewing this policy

Technology and industry guidance are changing quickly. We review this policy regularly and will update it here if our practices change.
