1. Our role
For the personal information described in our privacy policy, Omega Publishers is the controller. That means we decide how and why it is used and we are responsible for protecting it and honouring your rights.
2. Right to be informed
You have the right to clear information about how we use your data. Our privacy policy provides this, and we are happy to answer any questions.
3. Right of access
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, along with details of how it is used, who it is shared with and how long it is kept.
4. Right to rectification
If information we hold about you is inaccurate or incomplete, you can ask us to correct it.
5. Right to erasure
You can ask us to delete your personal information. We will do so unless we have a legal obligation or another lawful reason to keep it, in which case we will explain why.
6. Right to restrict processing
You can ask us to limit how we use your information, for example while we check its accuracy or consider an objection.
7. Right to data portability
Where processing is based on consent or a contract and carried out by automated means, you can ask for your information in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, or ask us to transfer it to another organisation.
8. Right to object
You can object to processing based on our legitimate interests. We will stop unless we have compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing is needed for legal claims.
9. Automated decision-making
We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing, including profiling, that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Every application is reviewed by a person.
10. Withdrawing consent
Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. This does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew it.
11. How to make a request
Email [email protected] with the subject "Data request" and tell us which right you wish to exercise. To protect your information, we may ask you to confirm your identity before we act.
- We will respond within one month of receiving your request.
- If your request is complex, we may extend this by up to two further months and will tell you why.
- Requests are free unless they are clearly unfounded or excessive.
12. Your right to complain
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the data protection supervisory authority in the country where you live or work, or where you believe the issue occurred.
